If you are representing yourself in court you have the right to reasonable assistance from a McKenzie Friend.

A McKenzie Friend can support you through the court process, help you with papers, take notes for you, give you quiet advice on the law and procedures and any other issues. It is important to note however, a McKenzie Friend cannot address the court on your behalf, they cannot examine witnesses or make legal submissions. They can support you beforehand however and give you everything you need at hand in court. They are able to sit with you in court and continue to provide you with support in the court room.

It can be difficult to find a trustworthy McKenzie friend that will be able to provide you with the support and assistance you require. At Advucate all our McKenzie Friends are legally qualified and therefore have a wealth of experience in attending court, they are trained advocates and therefore professional competent professionals accustomed to court rules and procedures.
